{"id":2443,"date":"2026-10-04T18:10:56","date_gmt":"2026-10-04T18:10:56","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.hedayatzadeh.info\/aag\/courses\/program\/agnt-essentials-2\/"},"modified":"2026-10-04T18:10:56","modified_gmt":"2026-10-04T18:10:56","slug":"agnt-essentials","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.hedayatzadeh.info\/aag\/courses\/program\/agnt-essentials\/","title":{"rendered":"AG &#038; NT Essentials"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-text-color has-alpha-channel-opacity has-background\" style=\"background-color:#00acc6;color:#00acc6\"\/>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:40px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Welcome to\u00a0<strong>Algebraic Geometry and Number Theory Essentials<\/strong>, a reading course offered as part of the\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/hedayatzadeh.info\/aag\/courses\/program\/\">Decoding Dimensions<\/a>\u00a0program on Algebraic Geometry and Number Theory.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The goal of this course is to develop the&nbsp;<strong>algebraic and categorical background needed for further study in Algebraic Geometry and Number Theory<\/strong>, in particular for later courses on&nbsp;<strong>scheme theory<\/strong>&nbsp;and&nbsp;<strong>class field theory<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The course is not intended to give a comprehensive treatment of abstract algebra, commutative algebra, category theory, or Galois theory. Instead, we will focus on the ideas and constructions that will be used repeatedly later on.&nbsp;Some of the material will already be familiar to participants from previous algebra courses. In such cases, the aim will be less to repeat the theory from scratch and more to develop&nbsp;<strong>fluency with the relevant constructions and techniques<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The class is scheduled for <strong>Wednesday<\/strong>, from <strong>4 pm<\/strong> to <strong>6:00 pm<\/strong> (Tehran time).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I will be sharing the weekly reading material and exercises on the <a href=\"http:\/\/hedayatzadeh.info\/aag\/news\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"News\">News<\/a> page. All class-related communication and updates will also be posted there.
